Quick Impressions:
Fans of Cheshire Cat rejoice because this episode is dominated by his appearance. That is to be expected as this is Cheshire’s intro episode and the beginning of his story arc after all. He won’t be seen much after this arc is over. Cheshire’s story is one of the more fascinating arcs in Pandora Hearts because there are quite a number of revelations here that deepened the mystery concerning the Abyss and Alice’s connection with it. It is here that Oz learns the surprising truth about Alice and her memories. Besides that, an important character made his proper introduction and he’s non other than the hero of Sabrie, Jack Vessalius. Alice seems to remember him from her memories. Jack first appeared as the shadowy mysterious guy in Ozzy’s memories in one of the earlier episodes. On top of that, we get to see much more of Vincent, Reim and Uncle Oscar. Vincent is decidedly creepy with a hidden agenda of his own outside of Pandora. He sent Echo to shadow Sharon knowing that Break isn’t by her side.

I must say that the character animation is sort of all over the place for some strange reason. Some of the facial close-up looked ridiculously odd and actually made me chuckle. So weird. Having said that, the movements of the action scenes were rather fluid. I enjoyed Cheshire’s fight with Eques. Speaking of Eques, Sharon’s chain is beautifully animated. It’s such a graceful creature. Vincent’s Dormouse Yamane though, was cute in a laughable way. Animation aside, I totally dig the fab bgm and the voice acting. Cheshire Cat’s voice is purrfect for him and he is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi. I love Vincent’s voice as well, FukuJun sounds so smexy in that voice. How can I forget Daisuki Ono as the swoonsome Jack Vessalius and Akira Ishida voicing the fantabulously crazy Xerxes Break? Meow, those smexy male voices are drool worthy for sure. (♥_♥)

Oz and Gil landed in Cheshire Cat’s lair. Lolz at Oz being spooked by his own talking shadow. It’s actually Sharon’s chain hiding behind Ozzy’s shadow.

Cheshire!!! The cat finally appears and promptly creeps Gil out with his catty purrs…lol. Poor Gil still has a cat phobia much to Ozzy’s dismay.

Eques!!! to the rescue. Sharon’s graceful chain is a gorgeous black unicorn.

The cat tells Sharon to buck-off and disappears from sight.  Sharon then finds herself with an uninvited company and her surprise expression reveals that this familiar person isn’t there for a friendly cup of tea.

Alice’s twisted memory is sure freaky. Oz and Gil are cornered by Cheshire just when they thought they managed to escape him.  Oh noes! Giiillll…fell down another rabbit’s hole. Cheshire’s got a choke hold on Oz now.

Alice x Jack FTW!!! Alice is so adorable when she’s confused and insecure.

Vincent’s chain Yamane made him sleepy each time he uses it. He probably woke up in some strange places many times then. Reim is adorable when he feigns ignorant and Uncle Oscar discovers that the Nightray brothers are as different from each other as day is from night.

And finally, it’s about time we meet JACK!!! He’s so pretty. Jack made sure that we know he’s Jack Vessalius and not Oz, as Gill mistakenly calls him. Oz on the other hand, is still being choked by Cheshire. Wanna see more of Jack’s cheeky smile.
