菫~陽と共に – Sumire~You to Tomoni
RED GARDEN OST Track 28

It has been a while since I last heard this song by Kokia. Nonetheless, Sumire~You to Tomoni still impact me the same way as when I first listened to it. It is also my favourite insert song from the “Red Garden” Original Soundtrack.

This legend is indeed on his mark

I wasn’t sure if the video link would work but it did and it’s all good until it last. To be honest, I’ve never seen this music video animation created for Chage & Aska’s song ‘On Your Mark’ by Miyazaki sensei before. I thought it quite genius that he managed to squeeze a complete short story into a slightly over 5 mins long music video. Fantastic really. Much like those animation shorts he created for Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. He’s definitely on his mark with this one, yeah!

Kuroshitsuji Book of Circus – 01

Yay! KUROSHITSUJI is back on the telly again!

Kuroshitsuji Book of Circus [Ohys-Raws] - 01.mp4_snapshot_00.07_[2014.07.12_21.06-tile私はあくまで執事ですから.  Oh how I miss hearing this phrase. No one,  I mean no one can voice Sebastian the way Daisuke Ono does. It’s good to have Kuroshitsuji back on the small screen in the way I like it best, back to its roots. This time round the anime is animating one of the better arcs from the manga known as the “circus arc”.  To get things going, the introductory stand alone episode eases the viewers, old and new alike back into the wonderfully weird and mysterious world of Kuroshitsuji where nothing is ever as it seems.

[Snippets] GFantasy Issue 07-14

With Summer Anime airings just round the corner, Kuroshitsuji once again held the cover spotlight in the July issue of GFantasy. Yana Toboso’s manga is one of Square Enix’s cash cows. It has been constantly in the spotlight with stage plays, a movie adaptation and a deluge of merchandising resulting from those. Not to mention, a new anime series that’ll be airing in July. One can see why the new anime will return to its roots instead of veering so far off the left field like the ‘huh?’ inducing Season 2 was. I for one is glad that the anime will continue from the middle part of where season 1 left off before it went completely off it’s source material. 😛

Anime Musings: Oct 2012 Fall Anime Status

Catching up on Fall Anime 2012

Photobucket

Summer has come and gone. I even skipped the seasonal first impressions post as I wasn’t really excited with the shows that aired over the Summer season. The Autumn anime offerings though, are the complete opposite. The new season is very much in full swing as all the shows in the Fall schedule have already aired. I must say that it is rare for me to pick more than a handful of shows to watch after checking out those on my ‘Before Airing List’ in any given season. More often than not, I tend to drop several shows from the initial preview list. Well, I surprise myself this time by not dropping anything outright (perhaps just one).  That’s not to say I follow each one of shows as they air.  It’s just a matter of re-shuffling the priority according to my anticipation and excitement level of the series that I’ve seen so far.  So then, what’s on my before and after ‘Watch List’? Check them out below. 😀

Sakamichi no Apollon 07 – Aww, they made up by making sweet music together

Photobucket

Well, aren’t I back with a chatter of Sakamichi‘s episode 7 or what? I watched it 3 times cos I really enjoy the whole atmosphere and emotional coaster that this episode generates. It’s the best single episode of anime I’ve seen since a Natsume episode back in 2009 (Season 2 to be precise). Tsuritama‘s episode 7 came a very close 2nd. Let me say it again, Noitamina is back and I hope they’ll maintain this momentum entering into “Summer”. No doubt the high notes that these two shows have hit are going to be difficult to beat.

Sakamichi no Apollon 05 and 06 – Cue the jealousy and bratty tantrums over losing a BFF

Hah! Where have I been eh? I miss talking about Sakamichi no Apollon the anime this past week because I got caught up reading volume 9 of the manga, watching other anime like Tsuritama, Jormungand, Space Brothers, KuroBas and Hyouka. Yup basically catching up. Updated my MAL list and then some.

I reckon it’s only natural that some peeps from the anime fandom poke me for the burning triangular or polygon relationship resolutions now that I’ve read Vol.9 of “Sakamichi”. Shall I spoil a little bit? Nah, not really. The one thing I’m going to stress is what Junichi’s college mate said to Kaoru in Ep 05: “Unlike Lovers, Friendship is for life“.  And emm, a passage of time is involved. See, that is actually a teeny clue for the curious bunch poking me. How it gets to that point…let’s enjoy the anime together and find out. 😆 Continue reading

KuroBas – Why so funny, eh?

Ahem! Happy Mother’s Day to Momsies everywhere including yours! ^_^

What’s that got to do with Kuroko’s Basketball? Nothing really. 😆 I feel the need to just say a greeting and mothers are special people after all. We won’t be here without our mothers now, won’t we?!

But yeah, let’s babble on about Kuroko’s Basketball. This is so random because I just wanted to chatter about KuroBas. See, I put this little montage of images together as a fangirl appreciation. (*^^*)

I‘m really enjoying both the anime adaptation and manga. I dunno about other viewers but I think the anime is hilarious. I thought the mangaka’s humour (or jokes, if you like) translated really well into the anime. I can’t help but chuckle while watching an episode or maybe I’m just shallow and easy to please.
