A sparkling look at Hanasakeru Seishounen

Impressions:
This serves as my first impression post of shoujo romance TV anime “Hanasakeru Seishounen”. Eh! Scratch that. It is actually an excuse for me to blab about the *sparkle-licious* episode 9, my favourite episode of the series so far. On top of that, I get to show-off the lovely screencaps of the sparkles inducing bishies (^ο^). I ship Eugene x Li-Ren instead of Kajika x the husband candidates. It just so happens that episode 9 has loads of Eugene x Li-Ren moments which motivates me to feature the episode right here. Yep, so shallow is my reason, ne. (~_^)

Of course, that’s not the only thing which prompted me to commit to this post. Incidentally, episode 9 has got so many cheesy and humourous, chuckle-inducing, fan-service moments that made it particularly fun to watch.  A light-hearted episode like this is what we need after all the heavy emo-drama fest and politics of the earlier episodes and character arcs. It serves to win back some of the viewers who were put off by the Eugene emo-arc and the annoying Kajika “Mustafa” dead animal complex bit. Suffice to say she’s still like that, though much less irritating.  But really,  I’m secretly pimping the show, (_O_)!

Right said Fred. Let’s do a little recap of what’s been going on so far. Kajika, the main heroine, was challenged to a game by her filthy rich dad. The game involves Kajika choosing a husband from among 3 candidates pre-selected by her dad. She’s supposed to meet each of the individuals in an unconventional way. Thus far, she has met the super rich and beautiful model-liked Baron Eugene de Volcan, whom she thought is the reincarnated spirit of her exotic but dead pet “Mustapha”. Yo, nice going Kajika. Then, she got herself kidnapped along with the very dark exotic blue-eyed Prince Rumaty from a super wealthy oil-producing, middle eastern kingdom of Raginei, whom she nicknamed “Oriental Blue”. Bishie prince help quash an attempt on Kajika’s life while coming off one on his own life. Tut, she’s on a roll there.

So da, what about the other handsome and elegant Chinese guy Fang Li Ren, who is supposedly appointed to be her guardian until she made her choice? Is he not a husband candidate since he possess the necessary qualifications to be considered as one? Nah, daddy just wants to torture him by letting him witness Kajika getting cosy with all the bishies on the list. There’s still the 3rd guy on the rota that Kajika has yet to lay eyes on. I’m sure we’ll eventually see him down the road.

But on to episode 9 which has some subtle yuri and yaoi moments. Look at Yui’s brother Kouta…the boy blushes profusely at the sight of lanky, sparkly seductive Eugene. Yui draws cold sweat just thinking about Kajika. Then there’s the electrifying tension between Eugene and Li-Ren. Maybe it’s not so subtle afterall. Wait, this isn’t that kind of show right?! Nah, I Kid. ( ^^)

Yui daydreams of Kajika. Eugene made his way to Yui’s school and stage a little stake out for her. It confuses him that every school kids looked the same. But ya, he managed to spot Yui and came to rescue her from her pompous show-off school mate by casting his blinding sparkles, introducing himself as Kajika’s fiance. Huh??? Fiance??? In return, Yui has to bring him home. Good deal! And heck ya, I love the spoken Engrish here.

More Engrish and dazzling sparkles as Yui brought Eugene home to meet mom. Mom is blinded by such a beautiful foreign creature. Oh how Eugene really rubs it in…especially the ‘fiance’ bit.  Li-Ren seems to feel a distant dark and nasty vibe in the air. There’s no way he’s gonna let Kajika run off the Mustapha guy by herself.

Even more dazzling sparkles being casted as Eugene gingerly steps out from the bathroom in a smouldering smexy Yukata…reducing Kouta into a nervous, blushing wreck. Yui’s bro even try to steal a pic or two much to her mom’s chagrin. Oi, oi…can look but cannot touch, no?! 😆

Wot? More bishie invasion of the Yamate household, not forgetting a bishoujo too. Mom thought she must be in heaven.  Even more colourful sparkles were generated.

An electrifying hot exchange takes place in Yui’s bedroom between two very hot looking bishies. Kajika is just the excuse for the two bishounens to meet each other.

Li-Ren is good in the kitchen too.

Girlfriend time out.

Apparently, our two bishies carried on from the bedroom to the kitchen…rofl. The magnetic attraction is just too strong. Toranosuke is having a hard time keeping them apart.

Yui papa isn’t immune from the bishie-licous sparkles either.

Ah…what a lovely family photo if you know what I mean…well, maybe not. So I leave it at that. (>w<)
