Ookiku Furikabutte S2 OP Single ‘Natsuzora’ and Arakawa Under the Bridge ED Single ‘Sakasama Bridge’

Music Post!

Catch-up post featuring Galileo Galilei‘s debut single ‘Natsuzora‘ and Suneohair‘s new single ‘Sakasama Bridge‘.

CD Title: Natsuzora
Artist(s): Galileo Galilei
Release Date: 9-Jun-2010

I miss out on this single earlier on but hey, never too late to chat about it as the title track is the catchy opening theme to my favourite anime sequel of the Spring season and that’s ‘Ookiku Furikabutte‘ (Big Windup!) also known by fans as ‘Oofuri’. Newcomer Galileo Galilei‘s debut single ‘Natsuzora‘ certainly did well to capture the upbeat, energetic vibe of Season 1’s first opening theme ‘Dramatic’ by Base Ball Bear. ‘Dramatic’ is still my favourite of Oofuri’s 3 intro themes. This single also includes two B-sides titled ‘Hana no Ame‘ and ‘Arozu Yufu‘ which is an entirely instrumental, non-vocal rock-pop track. ‘Hana no Ame’ is a much heavier and atmospheric number than ‘Natsuzora’. Not liking the vocals as much though. Recommended track is definitely ‘Natsuzora’.

CD Title: Sakasama Bridge
Artist(s): Suneohair
Release Date: 23-Jun-2010

Remember Honey & Clover….and Suneohair. Well, he’s back with a brand new single which features the outro theme ‘Sakasama Bridge‘ to wacky slice of life anime series ‘Arakawa Under the Bridge‘. I have listened to most of Suneohair’s songs ever since H & C and pretty much enjoyed most of them. ‘Sakasama Bridge’ is another one to add to that list. It’s the perfect ED theme for ‘Arakawa’ especially with the animation visuals they produced for the ED cut of the song. It reminds me much of H & C too. In fact, I enjoy listening to the rest of the tracks that are featured on the single particular track 2 ‘Tokimeki Schneider‘, a melodic pop-rock song and track 4 ‘Sarari‘, a mid-tempo ballad with a touching chorus. The 3rd track ‘Kimi ga Suki‘ is a slow ballad which is kind of plodding in parts. Overall, a good and enjoyable single from Suneohair.
