I lost count of the number of Porno Graffitti’s singles releases to date but anyway, ‘Kono Mune wo, Ai wo Iyo’ is their very latest single. The band tends to do good pop-rock centered ballads and the titular track is an example of that which I enjoy listening to. Track 2 ‘Diamond’ is also a good listen. It’s a much funky mid-tempo rock number which sounds very acoustic. So yes, I’m happy with this addition to my music bank.

I had a pretty good laugh at how both ‘cdjapan’ and ‘yesasia’ labeled the CD title as ‘Wow I Nee’. It’s just too weird! I decide to stick to my own conversion and that’s ‘Wo Ai Ni’ which in Chinese means ‘I love you’. Back to the music. It’s great to hear from Takahashi Hitomi again. I love her previous single ‘Atashi No Machi, Ashita No Machi’ the OP single for ‘Toshokan Senso’. Let me say that ‘Wo Ai Ni’ is one damn catchy energetic rock number that just latch on to you. I totally love it at first listen. The titular track also happens to be TV anime Gintama’s 14th ED theme. The B-side track ‘Coffee Milk’ turns out to be just as fun and doubly cute too. It’s got a playful vibe and a great sing-a-long chorus. Easily my favourite single of the lot I’m featuring here.

Daisuke Ono cuts his 4th Maxi Single. I tweeted on Twitter about how weird it is to hear him sing because I keep picturing his anime character ‘Sebastian’ singing instead him. Right then, Kinmokusei is actually quite a listenable pop-rock number. Ono has a reasonable singing voice to pull off such fast pace rock number. The b-side track ‘Tori no Yume Sakushi’ is another decent mid pace pop-rock. But still, I can’t shake off Sebas-chan image off my mind…his voice especially on track 2 is just soooo Sebastian…it has Sebas-chan written all over it. (^o^)

This would be the first time I featured ‘Tiara’ and it’s because of Spontania’s collaboration that I got to listen to Tiara’s single ‘Sayonara wo Kimi ni’. I like most of Spontania’s melodic pop-rap compositions and this one is a rather nice song with an easy-listening groove. Tiara sings well too. All in all, it’s an enjoyable listen.

‘Niji’ is Yuzu’s 29th single to date and it’s featured as the CM song for the Nippon Life Insurance Company. I love how the titular song begins with the strings orchestration and leads to the first verse. Great chorus and melody too. Definitely begs a repeat listen and is a welcome addition to my music bank.

Spitz is one of my favourite bands and they’re back to perform the theme song of Sato Shinsuke’s anime film “Hottarake no Shima – Haruka to Maho no Kagami” titled ‘Kimi wo Taiyo’. Although, this single was released late last month, I only got round to feature it here. The titular track is another one of Spitz trademark melodic rock-pop number that’s spirited and full of energy which I totally like. The single also features the B-side track ‘Okera’ which has a fab drum beat opening. Well, this made it a worthy single collection in Ayu’s music bank for sure.

Tracklist:
01. 君は太陽 **
02. オケラ
