New Single – School Food Punishment’s Butterfly Swimmer

Music Post!

School Food Punishment released their second major single ‘Butterfly Swimmer’.
ESCL-3259

School Food Punishment‘s new song ‘Butterfly Swimmer‘ is used as a CM for a beverage brand. Aside from being a CM, it’s actually a worthy follow-up to their breakthrough hit single ‘futuristic imagination‘. It has a more electro-pop rock feel though it’s not as edgy as their previous hit song but still is one pretty cool song. I like how it started out kinda slow and builds up the beat as it progresses. The best part is the catchy chorus.

The single also featured two B-sides titled ‘Beer Trip’ and ‘futuristic imagination ~AVALON Remix’ respectively. Beer Trip isn’t as energetic as the A-side but is still a good track on its own. The melody is mellower and the mid-tempo arrangement has a very acoustic vibe. The ‘Avalon Remix‘ of ‘futuristic imagination’ on the other hand sounds nothing like the original version. It’s more of an instrumental remix incorporating a mix of electronica and techno beats. Well, it works as a background kind of music, if you like.

One thing I must say is that both ‘Butterfly Swimmer’ and ‘Beer Trip’ exudes echoes of School Food’s debut hit single. It almost feels like I’d listen to the tracks before because certain bits sound similar. Overall, it’s still a good follow-up Single release from the band and the A-side is definitely worth a listen.
