Pandora Hearts Episode 15 – Who Killed Poor Alice? 誰がための言葉
A familiar hand is manipulating the unfolding scenario, a person with a link to past…who is it?
Cheshire says goodbye in this episode. We won’t see him like this again except maybe in flashbacks. The Mad Hatter is just too powerful an opponent especially as it wields the power to negate other chains and sent them into oblivion. Still, to see Cheshire crying out Alice’s name in an agonizing scream before disappearing forever was disheartening and sad especially since it jolt Alice’s memory and she gained a sliver of recognition. It’s your beloved pet you dang B-rabbit! See, even Oz felt a little sorry for the hapless neko.
Break got what he came for and that’s to obtain Alice’s memories in the form of a bell. But unbeknown to Break, someone else is using him as a pawn, manipulating the situation to his advantage from within Pandora. As awesome as Break is, he’ll soon find out that not everything will go his way especially since he pointedly hit that person’s sore spot. Who am I talking about here but Vincent. Vincent is completely sly. He obviously don’t take well to Break’s veiled accusation and is observant enough to know Break’s weak point, therefore he’s gonna hit him back where it hurts the most.
What of Oz? The seal’s hand on Ozzy’s chest moved for the first time. Oz was seen to have some control over B-rabbit’s power before. We saw it when he stop Alice from attacking Phillip’s dad in Episode 9. But in both instances that he used B-rabbit’s power, he was always under some great emotional strain and in this case, he sort of went over the edge after seeing the vision of Alice’s death and knowing that she was a human. The will of the abyss managed to influence Oz in his weaken mental state. He became like Cheshire, wanting to destroy anything that’s hurting Alice. Even Gil wasn’t able to stop him from drawing on B-rabbit’s power until he literally slap some sense into him.
Gil’s reaction was fun to watch. He’s very much the loyal and protective servant but there’s obviously a reason he is the way he is now and as Jack has hinted, it has everything to do with his past, during the time of Sabrie, 100 years ago. It’ll be very interesting to learn more of Gil and Vincent’s back story and how they ended up in the present time. I dig the lovey-dovey BL-ish Gil x Oz scenes and Jack x Gil. So much love…. (♥_♥) Beats out Oz x Alice scenes! 😛
At the end of the episode, Oz who is reunited with Alice gets teleported out of Cheshire Cat’s crumbling dimension with the help of an agitated Eques, Sharon’s chain. Sharon doesn’t seem to respond to Oz who’s calling out to her. The last we saw of Sharon was when Echo paid her an unwelcome visit. What’s worse is that Oz unexpectedly landed right in the middle of a Pandora meeting with Alice in her B-rabbit form…lolz. Uncle Oscar’s shock look was priceless. Guess who else was seen in the meeting? That character will be making a grand appearance in the near future.
Meanwhile, Break and Raven got left behind in the chaotic aftermath of the crumbling dimension. How will they escape? Like Oz, viewers got more questions than answers from the episode plus we still don’t know who killed Alice, do we? I’m pretty sure quite a few people will immediately jump in and say that it was Vincent who did it…on account of a pair of bloody scissors and his known weird hobby. We can speculate such and such but nothing’s certain…not yet anyway.
Poor Cheshire loses both his arms, thanks to a very agile Break. Seems that there’s a side effect of using Mad Hatter’s power but it’s all worth it cos Break has Cheshire’s precious bell. The cat is furious and is loosing his cat form.
Just when they are reunited, our lovable trio is suddenly shaken by Cheshire’s deformed appearance and ta da…Break flying through the air landing in front of them. Golly, Break is so hilarious even in such a moment.
Oz is appalled at Cheshire’s transformation but feels sorry for the cat. Break has no choice but to stop Cheshire from its despair and destruction. Alice remembers her pet cat as his dying scream rendered the air.
Eques appears but behaved strangely. The collapsing dimension separated Gil from Alice and Oz, who both incidentally gets teleported away leaving behind Gil and Break. Oz feels that there is still more that he wants to find out in Cheshire’s dimension and is disappointed in leaving the place behind.
