Episode 12: The Darkness Called Pain Treads Ever Closer (痛みという名の闇はひたひたと…)
Heh, I’m a little slow with this episode. Better late than never. I was in the midst of making a musical compilation and had to put 07-G on hold but am now happily back on track again.
This was quite a creepy, almost gory episode in parts. Lots of blood splatters as well and yes, they are bright red…not blue or black. There’s a murder in the beginning, a blood fest in the middle and another brutal killing at the end. Yup, bloody deaths doth those criminals suffer. Lots of bad things continue to happen in the 7th district and Aya-tan is behind all of them of course. Greed festers in the hearts of people and darkness envelopes them and devour their souls, turning them into kors and even the clergy is not immune. The shinigamis certainly had their hands full with the Bishops Exams going on at the same time.
Someone’s out feeding on souls and blood in the middle of the night too. That alone gives a huge hint as to his true nature. It’s the first time his dark side is exposed in a freaky manner. Who the heck am I talking about? It’s Frau and if you’ve already seen this episode, you’ll know what I’m babbling on. Those who haven’t read the manga might find it surprising that he did what he did. Admittedly, Frau didn’t seem quite like his normal self with all that creepy aura. He is responsible (and the only one capable) of controlling Verloren’s scythe and that spooky thing is actually alive and needs feeding. So now, we know what Frau has to do in order to feed his monstrous weapon when it gets hungry.
But hang on, there are lighter moments in this episode too and they mostly involved scenes between Teito and Hakuren. They’re at each other’s throats most of the time but they slowly warm up to one another towards the end. At least, Teito isn’t moping about much. Hakuren’s appearance is the distraction that Teito needs to stop emo-ing over Mikage. Hakuren is a good shot with his baculus and certainly isn’t a just another weak pretty face or push over type of character. He appears to be a rather perceptive guy and would probably be the one to inspire Teito to get a move on. Another new and important character made his appearance as well. He’s non other than Assistant Archbishop Bastien who will play a prominent part in this arc. I’m at least glad that the plot is moving and getting exciting again as the real havoc is about to begin.
Bastien-sama appears and shows the crowd of students how to remove a kor without harming the victim. Castor is piling the pressure on Teito to study harder…hehe. Frau yawned and looked bored but still managed to freak Teito out by endearingly calling him damn brat. ❤
Teito and new best mate Hakuren, registers for the baculus class and eeewww, what thick lips the big hulky ex-criminal possessed. The hulky guy suffered a sudden seizure…he probably couldn’t take in Hakuren’s bishielicious look and pass out. Lab-san tells Castor-san that the flowers sensed something sneaky is going on.
Waaa…that doesn’t mean you can blow up the building & break the baculus, yelps a shocked bishop-sama. Aren’t you suppose to shoot the kors and what is Frau-sama going to say now that you broke his baculus? 😆
Wot? Frau’s baculus? How did chibi get hold of Frau’s baculus? Now Hakuren is jealous cos Frau is his idol. He’s not going to let the chibi get away from stealing his beloved idol from him…lol. Let the fight for Frau love begin. (♥o♥)
Less we forget, Aya-tan and his posse continue to stir up trouble although they mostly work off-screen to spread their evilness in the 7th district. They pulled off another murder and it’s the hulky ex-criminal guy with the thick lips. Aya-tan is happy indeed.
