07-Ghost Episode 4 – Aww, moe mermaid is adorable

Kapitel 4:
To the Depths of the Earnest Prayer (ただひたすらなる祈りの果てに)

Impressions:
Moe mermaid stole the show this time. Razette is so cute. She immediately brightens up the screen when she appears and chased away all the gloominess of the episode. Teito is still being emo-Teito and ends up falling into the depths of darkness, selling his soul to a kor-possessed ojisan just so he could see his best friend. That’s so childish and idiotic too. Mikage isn’t going anywhere either and his interrogation has been dragging on for so long now (3 episodes long to be exact). I hope they bring his situation to an end in the next episode, if the preview is any indication. At least, he remained resolute in his promise to his friend and not in any way swayed by Aya-tan’s blackmail tactics. That’s the mark of a true friend and maturity. Teito should learn something on perseverance from Mikage.

Frau is awesome as usual and it’s the first time that his death scythe is shown in all its glory. But it is a little creepy the way it came out from his wrist and how the scythe seems to have a life of its own. There’s some mystery relating to the death scythe since the Kor appears to recognize the scythe and exclaimed in surprise as to how someone like Frau could have wielded such an instrument of darkness. This evidently means that Frau isn’t it’s original master. I want to know how he came into possession of the scythe as well. Castor was just as awesome with his powers being seen for the first time. Teito isn’t meant to see all these mysterious powers but the fact that he could see them made the bishops a little weary and astonished. Strange things started happening ever since Teito arrived at the Church.Castor remarked how is it that a Kor could enter Church grounds and Labrador hinted at troubling times ahead.

Except for the minor boring scenes of Mikage being held and Ayanami giving the same pose for the umpteenth time, I enjoyed this episode much more than the last three episodes combined. All because Razette is such a cutie and Frau’s scythe wielding is winsome.

More screencaps:

How Teito met Razette. It all started out over a pair of undies. 😀
