Kuroshitsuji Episode 18 – In the arms of an Angel

Episode 18: その執事、転送 His Butler, Delivers

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it ok
There’s always some reason to feel “not good enough”?
And it’s hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction, oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless, and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight
In the arms of an Angel, fly away from here…

Impressions:
Duh, I lag behind this episode. Not the first time it happened. Going to make short work of this post for sure. The episode basically concludes the ‘cult’ arc although I’m not sure it’s the last we see of Angela. I don’t think her ‘arc’ ended yet. She failed to make Ciel rewrite his past…who’s to say she won’t come back to complete her devious angelic deed. I think Sebastian might even suspect that it’s not quite over with our fallen angel…lol. She’s one mean cookie that one. Else, why didn’t Sebastian take Ciel’s miserable soul?! The Undertaker mentioned that there were other culprits involved in Ciel’s parents deaths. Also, the motives behind their gruesome murder aren’t revealed. So justice on Ciel’s part has yet to be served. I guess Sebby knew this and Ciel gets to live a little while longer until he finds the truth and, sends his tormentors to the depths of hell.

The surprise reveal from this episode is of course the Undertaker’s identity. I suspected that odd character might be hiding something but I never expect he would be a famous high ranking bishie shinigami albeit a retired one. There’s even a statue of him on the lobby of the Death God’s library. Wonder how he got that scar on his face. Just a funny thought…maybe he got into a fight with Angela who tried to stitch him up and turn him into a doll…haha or it could be Will accidentally poking him with his death god pole thingy. It must be a relief for Sebastian that Grell now has someone else to drool over😀. Speaking of our Butler, he kind of saved the pretty little nun’s life with his demon aura enveloping her, didn’t he?!…lol.

No quibbles, just pretty screenies this time:

Ok, I lied. Can’t resist short quibbles after all. Just to sum up everything that’s happened. Grell and Sebby followed Angela and ended up in the Death God’s heavenly domain. Angela tries to mind wipe Ciel by using memories of his beloved parents but failed. Ciel refused to forget the past and recovers back his memories. Seb, Will and Grell tries to stop Angela from committing her devious deed to the innocent victims of the village with the help of the Undertaker, who happens to be a top level Shinigami. He rewrites the cinematic record using his special pink bookmark and quil pen to alter events caused by Angela’s misdeeds. Our butler and the two Death Gods managed to pin Angela down…who in turn goes berserk and caused the entire cultish place to collapse. Sebby tells pretty nun and the others to escape if they chose to live. Some of them did not and perished. At the scene of the aftermath, Ciel asks Sebby why did he not take his soul now that the responsible person is gone. He merely smile and ask to stay by Ciel’s side a while longer. Back at the Undertaker’s place, the supposedly retired shinigami revealed that he has the real cinematic record of Ciel’s parents. But Ciel did not wish to know its contents. So, I guess this hints at Angela or Ash’s return later.

  1. 🙂 I’m a fan of Sarah M’s music. The song just came to mind when the scene of Ciel’s memories got suck out of him….’memories seep from veins’ so fitting!😛 Yup, Angela is definitely an awesome antagonist.

  2. Oh, it is a good song by Sarah McLachlan🙂

Yes, not all questions have been answered. I think we’ll see Angela again sometime.

Well, the scar is… from a similar procedure Angela conducted on Ciel’s parents😛

Oh yes, it was nice of Sebastian to save that nun🙂

Omg… That picture of flying Angela is so awesome!😀

I also like that cover picture🙂 We need more Lau🙂
