Munto (TV) OP Single – Anemoi by Eufonius

Quick Post

New Single from eufonius.
‘Anemoi’ is the 12th Single release from progressive pop group ‘eufonius’. The band has notably produced songs for anime series ‘True Tears’ and ‘Clannad’. Their latest effort ‘Anemoi’ is yet another theme song for KyoAni’s latest series, Munto (TV) otherwise known by it’s long title ‘Sora wo Miageru Shojo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai.’

I like eufonius previous work and it’s not surprising that I like ‘Anemoi’ too. The titular song has a lovely orchestral strings intro and has that atmospheric feel to it’s melody and music arrangement which gives off a relaxing vibe. The vocals lend itself nicely to the music. I love the break slightly past mid section of the track with it’s soft vocal layering and light acoustic guitar that builds up to the chorus going into the final parts. The second track ‘Kuusou Teien’ is a sentimental laid back kind of song that’s different from the usual generic b-sides pop tracks you would normally find as fillers in Singles. Riya’s floaty vocals blends with the gentle soothing melody of the song. Definitely a track that’s quite suited for a long drive. Imo, Anemoi is among some of the better OP Singles released from the Winter 2009 selection that I’ve heard recently.
