Highlights of this episode includes Kaname reviving Rido with his blood and flashbacks of the Haruka vs Rido fight. Then there’s the scene between the Hunters Association President having a clandestine meeting with Ichiou, Head of the Vampire Council. Ichiou offering a vial of blood to the H.A President obviously hinted at something very fishy going on. Yagari and Kaien Cross nearly having a face-off as Kaien thought that Yagari is at the school to eliminate Zero seeing as the H.A President has ordered him to be captured and killed. Meanwhile something weird is happening with Zero and his tattoo. It’s causing him to behave erratically and I think it probably has to do with the Kuran blood awakening inside him since Yuuki has been turned. And of course, there’s the infamous Yuuki line where she told Zero that the vampire side of her has eaten her human self. What unkind words to be saying to someone like Zero. It’s like stabbing him in the back multiple times. Tsk!
My favourite scenes were the ones between Rido and Haruka which you can definitely tell from the many screencaptures I cut from that part. Sad that Haruka died. Rido was playing dirty with use of the Hunter’s sword to kill Haruka. This gives us another strong hint that H.A and V.C has quietly been associating with one another way back then. The fight scenes were quite well animated as we get to see the different abilities of the pureblood vampires. The flashback also reveals why Kaname can’t kill Rido. All in all, a good episode with slight changes to some scenes fitting for the plot tension and drama that’s to come in the next episode.
And now, the Screencaps Gallery:
Lots of Juri, Haruka, Kaname and Rido flashback scenes. Juri looks so much better here than in the previous episode. Haruka looks awesome and Rido is in his hawt evil mode with the blood tentacles. Cute but sad father and son moment too.
H.A President and Ichiou are involved in some shady sinister dealings together which includes exchange of info for a vial of vampire blood. How tasty! It’s certainly going to be a long tormenting night for Zero with the potent cocktail of Kuran blood brewing madly within him. Yagari is such a good sensei for not abandoning his protege to the dogs. Kaien’s getting serious, letting his hair loose and all.
