Well, events are beginning to stir at Cross Academy. Yuuki has been turned into her true pureblood form and is bloodthirsty from her awakening. In this episode, you see the scene where she feeds on Kaname’s blood. She’s still dazed by her transformation. However, the truth about herself and her true relationship with Kaname is slowly beginning to sink in. She even angst over the implication this will have on Zero. Zero though, is still in shock and had a hard time believing what he has witnessed and being told by Kaname that Yuuki is Kuran’s daughter, serves to magnify the deep sense of hurt and betrayal that’s gradually welling within him. Aidou, Cain and the others too are surprised that Yuuki is revealed to be Kaname’s imouto. That was the reason why he has been so protective of her all this while. Even so, they chose to accept this fact and abide by Kaname’s side.
Although Rido loses his opportunity to wake Yuuki for himself, either way he seemed rather pleased that Kaname has turned her. Meanwhile he again decides to have some fun by taunting both Takuma and Rima because he sensed their obvious displeasure with his behaviour, going so far as to say he’ll removed those who are anti-council followers. That means most of the Night Class students would become his prey. In fact he incited Rima to have a fight with him where he managed to seriously injure her but was force by Takuma to stop from hurting her any further. Aware that events caused by Rido is moving, Kaname proceed to instruct that the day class students be protected from imminent danger. It seems that Kaein Cross too will be forced to take up his sword once again to defend his beloved School.
Is it me or the transformed Yuuki is made out to look like a 10 year old girl with big dolly eyes and long hair?! Really, that makes her look rather creepy and weirdly regressed. It gives Kaname a dreaded pedo vibe when it shouldn’t. Of the three main characters, I was never really satisfied with how her character turns out…even in the manga. Rido’s character is actually fun to watch, especially with all the mischief he puts up in Shiki’s body. The added scene with him feeding on an unknown woman made his delicious maliciousness all the more appealing. Looking forward to see his true form. There were some scenes of Haruka and Juuri in Yuuki’s flashback. It was nice that they show the Kurans as one whole family and the Kurans confrontation with Rido. Rido has been after Yuuki’s blood since then and the Kurans were forced to hide her from the outside world. I wish they hadn’t made Juuri’s hair appear messy and overly twirly. Somehow, it made her look older than Haruka which is odd.
Overall, this episode feels like a set up for the greater turmoil that’s coming and that’s what I really want to see. Highlight for this week is Rido vs Rima fight where the blood whip wins! Sorry Rima.
