Again, I am slow to post the episodic updates for VKG this week. Been utterly busy. So I decided to post my thoughts/impressions on the episode beneath each screencaps grouping just to make things easier for me.
And here are this week’s VKG screencaps.
Yuuki’s continuing blood hallucination got the better of her. It spook her so much so that she even accidentally attacked Kaname with her staff out of fear. Kaname sensed her nervousness and tries to comfort her. But confessing his love for her at that inopportune moment probably unnerved her even more as she couldn’t bring herself to ask him questions she meant to ask, thus making her angsty again. This caused Zero to be concerned for her and led him to seek Kaname himself.
Ah yes, the bathroom blood drinking scenes. Possibly my favourite part of the episode. Zero versus Kaname confrontation that ended up with Zero drinking Kaname’s blood in the bathroom. The scene was a bit shorter and is done slightly different from the manga in that Kaname was much less violent. I thought he appeared rather gentler here but it is still one of the most pivotal part of the story where you have the two main male characters each declaring their care for Yuuki. Hmmm, Aidou seemed a little envious of the fact that Zero could get that close to Kaname…he probably sensed that Zero received blood transfusion from Kaname especially as Zero has blood splattered all over his clothes and face.
Ichiru’s arrival at Cross Academy and becoming a student there shows that the ‘other side’ is making their sinister moves. It’s more likely that he is sent there to spy for the Council on Kaname’s activities. I was hoping to see a bit more of the plot continuance from the last episode but that didn’t happen. I supposed they’ll do the scenes where both Shiki and Ichijou returns to the school in the upcoming episodes or two. *Lol* at Ichiru telling Yuuki that Zero’s taste has gone bad. 😀
Yagari leaves Cross Academy to try and find out what freaky business the Association is up to. Cross and Yagari’s interaction always seems hilarious for some reason and this episode is no different. The Kiryuu twins meet face to face in school. So alike and yet different. Zero is very much suspicious of Ichiru and why he’s at the school.
Zero wondered if Yuuki will be ok meeting with Kaname but since it’s something she wanted to do, he lets her go off alone and that’s where the anime veered off from the manga abit as the writers made some changes to the story sequence. Otherwise, the scenes and conversation between Kaname and Yuuki are basically similar. Kaname still asked Yuuki to be his lover if she wants to know the truth about her missing memories.
As in the previous few episodes, the anime has taken the liberty to alter or switch the plot sequences, characters’ actions and scenes so that they appear to be different from the manga. The anime tends to put across their emphasis on certain things differently which makes it interesting. However, the core of the story remained the same as that of the manga. Animation wised, I thought Yuuki’s character looked a bit off in parts. It’s just that the animators weren’t very consistent with her appearance. Everyone else is ok though. Looking forward to the arrival of ‘you know who’ in school next.
