It has been a very long time since I last did a music post. To get myself back in the groove, I’m going to go about it in a different manner than the way I used to do before. Instead of just announcing a string of OP/ED singles releases coupled with my crappy “reviews”, I am picking a selection of OP/ED and insert songs that caught my interest and do a short compilation post.

First off! Happy New Year 2011, minna-san.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday break and festive celebrations. I had a very peaceful and calm holiday break. It was a rather short one but I made full use of my time to just relax and break free from even the net. Now I’m back at work again and in the full swing of things which will keep me even busier right up to the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Rabbit. But of course, I won’t abandon tBP and leave it in the lurch. Granted that I haven’t be posting regularly in recent weeks does not mean I won’t keep abreast of my other world hobbies, right?!

FALL 2010 ANIME OP/ED – PART 1

2010 Fall Anime season begins in earnest with several new shows airing within the 1st week of Oct. By no means am I watching all of the season’s offerings. That would be utterly nutters. But anyway, here’s a glimpse of the first batch of the Fall season’s OP/EDs from the shows that I’ve managed to catch and put on tBP’s ‘trial-watch’ list. Which ones made an impression on you so far?

Shiki OP／ED Singles – Buck Tick’s Kuchizuke／Nangi’s Walk no Yakusoku

I haven’t had time to cover op/ed singles releases like I used to and the August ani-singles batch hasn’t got anything that really caught my ear except those that I’ve already touched on. But if ‘music be the food of life’ than I really can’t let these two recent singles pass under tBP’s music radar (lol). TV anime Shiki’s OP/ED songs are contenders for my favourite intro and outro songs from the Summer anime season. On top of that, Shiki is currently my favourite summer ani-series.

I miss out on this single earlier on but hey, never too late to chat about it as the title track is the catchy opening theme to my favourite anime sequel of the Spring season and that’s ‘Ookiku Furikabutte‘ (Big Windup!) also known by fans as ‘Oofuri’. Newcomer Galileo Galilei‘s debut single ‘Natsuzora‘ certainly did well to capture the upbeat, energetic vibe of Season 1′s first opening theme ‘Dramatic’ by Base Ball Bear.

I haven’t really been covering the current season OP/ED singles releases and thus the lack of updates on this site. Nonetheless, I’m working on the list page to bring it up-to-date. That said, I managed to get wind of the recent double singles released for TV Anime ‘Kaichou wa Maid-sama!‘. The intro theme single ‘My Secret‘ is by ‘Mizuno Saaya‘ whereas the outro theme single ‘Yokan‘ is by a j-rock outfit called ‘HEIDI.‘.
