Because…

the future is all we have left

Someday, look back
on a, young day
we shared, we learned
we had, we lost

Because you know
tomorrow had another plan
because we lose
the future is all we have left

One pain, one hope
too far, so close
we laugh, we cry
we live, we grow

Because…
because we know the future is all we have left

One day, somewhere
hold on, somewhere
we stand, we leap
we fall, we go

Because you know
tomorrow plays another hand
because we lose
the future is all we have left

We have someday
surely someday
surely someday

Spinning: Galileo Galilei’s Imaginary Friends

I admit it. I luuuve this song. “Imaginary Friends” is the opening track to Galileo Galilei‘s 2nd album titled “PORTAL“. It’s such a fittingly catchy track that’ll hook you right in to the album. I love the seemingly playful, intertwining vocals of Ozaki Yuuki and the female background vocalist. Besides that, it is a pleasantly melodious track that incorporates heavier synths, complementing the gentler guitar sound, less anthemic but exudes a more fantasy-world kind of vibe. Definitely one of my favourite songs from Galileo Galileo after Asu e (Ashita e), SGP and Sayonara Frontier. Scroll down for a listen and sing along with the lyrics.

Sacred Seven OP Single: Stone Cold by FictionJunction

Music Post!

Well, what do you know? I just got round to having a few spins of this recently released single from FictionJunction.

CD Title: TV Anime Sacred Seven Intro Theme “Stone Cold”
Artist(s): FictionJunction
Release Date: 3-Aug-2011
Photobucket
Kajiura Yuki and FictionJunction return with their 3rd OP Single ‘Stone Cold‘ that served as the intro theme to TV anime ‘Sacred Seven‘. Fast paced techno beats, swirly guitars back by synths coupled with catchy chorus and fab harmonized vocals made ‘Stone Cold’ one energetic uptempo number. While the anime OP cut did not give me that impression, I did find the full version of the song a tad on the repetitive side after a few listens. However, the trade mark Kajiuran ethereal chorals in the break made for an interesting contrast that lifts the song from being just another average anime song.

A 2nd edition of ani-music selections to wind down to after a maddening day…

Music Post!

Photobucket

I did a similar ani-music compilation like this a while back and here I am with another fresh selection of tracks that I deemed as music to lighten the mood and ease one’s frenzied mind into a relaxing mode after a hard day’s slog. As before, I pick 10 tracks and each of them are from an anime soundtrack, composed by various composers. Of course, it is only natural that they are the ones I find enjoyable as stand alone pieces.  My idea of music to wind down to, are devoid of anything raunchy or loud and it is reflected in the pieces I have chosen for this post.  This tired mind likes to savour, quiet pleasant moments sprinkled with light notes of pick-me -ups. There’s a couple of decent old favourites but most are from fairly recent releases that are on my OST playlist.

So then, let the music speaks for itself… Press to play after the cut

A Celestial Sojourn: Music from Starry Tales

Sometime ago, I did a post about Kagaya Studio’s new CG planetarium show called ‘Tales of the Stars‘.  Well, Kagaya recently released an original soundtrack album from the show titled ‘Starry Tales Soundtrack‘.  The album featured 17 tracks in total. These include 3 vocal tracks performed by Origa.  The music is composed by Yoshiki Hoshi who’s better known as Himekami. Most of the bgm compositions are short variations of the two central themes i.e ‘Under the Starry Sky‘ and ‘Mythological Space‘. The best part of the album has to be the songs, specifically the ‘REMIXES’. The remix versions of the theme song ‘Starry Tales‘, ‘Wings of Freedom‘ and ‘Shining Future‘ far eclipsed their original arrangements. Thus, they are my top picks from the album.  Check out the music clips after the image cut. ^_-

From the desk: Having herbal tea and chasing the blues away with music

Ta dah…this is actually a small music post disguised as a random update  (j/jkg)

Ya, Ayu is still very much alive although she’s been rather quiet. Quiet on the blogging scene but definitely not in the real world where things are mad cap busy. Been under the weather as well and is currently on medication to stave off the onset of a cold (flu). Hopefully, it won’t descend into a full blown mess. DO NOT WANT!

Music Digest: OP Songs Selections 1

MUSIC POST!

It has been a very long time since I last did a music post. To get myself back in the groove, I’m going to go about it in a different manner than the way I used to do before. Instead of just announcing a string of OP/ED singles releases coupled with my crappy “reviews”, I am picking a selection of OP/ED and insert songs that caught my interest and do a short compilation post.

To begin with, here are my first choice of songs See the rest of my selections after the cut

[OST] A listen to Shinrei Tantei Yakumo Original Soundtrack

Music Post: A sampling of TV Anime “Shinrei Tantei Yakumo Original Soundtrack”

VTCL-60231 - 01a (1)
Being an anime fan who loves music, I tend to take note of the music aspect of the anime I’m watching. Thus, I usually ended up checking out the original soundtrack album of the collected compositions and the composer whose scores aroused my aural curiosity. That said, it has been a while since I last share my thoughts on any particular anime soundtrack release. It’s not because there isn’t anything that interest me or that I’d given up gabbing about music. There are in fact, a handful of recent releases that I found to be highly enjoyable and worth my while. It’s just that the lack of time prevented me from giving them a discerning ear which one requires when one wants to write about them. In that regards, I’m happy to be back on track again with my first music post of 2011.

My favourite things of the past year

Ayu speaks and list down her favourite stuff from 2010!
Sounds familiar right?!

First off! Happy New Year 2011, minna-san.

Haruhi New Year 2011
I hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday break and festive celebrations. I had a very peaceful and calm holiday break. It was a rather short one but I made full use of my time to just relax and break free from even the net. Now I’m back at work again and in the full swing of things which will keep me even busier right up to the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Rabbit. But of course, I won’t abandon tBP and leave it in the lurch. Granted that I haven’t be posting regularly in recent weeks does not mean I won’t keep abreast of my other world hobbies, right?!
