Mangazine Digest – June 2013 Edition

It has been a while since I posted any mag updates on this blog. Well, good news to followers of tBP (or not ). In this update, I’ll be sharing some manga snippets from both Asuka and Zero-Sum June issues albeit a little late as I have already gotten the July editions of both. I just thought I put them up anyway.

OTH, fans of UraBoku must have been wanting to know if the manga has return. The answer is unfortunately no. The manga is on an indefinite hiatus from Asuka. By the looks of it, UraBoku is coming to an end.  More on its status a little later in this post. In any case, Odagiri-sensei isn’t idling away either. She came out with a one shot manga titled ‘Marebito Cafe‘ and this was published in the June issue of Asuka. So, as an added bonus to fans of UraBoku, I included a full chapter preview in this post.  Do check it out if you enjoy Odagiri-sensei’s work. You’ll find it quite different from UraBoku.

New Year Snippets: UraBoku 2013 Calendar and 07-Ghost Kapitel 91

ヾ(＾∇＾) Hi all. Ayu is happy to share the first new year mag specials and manga snippets on tBPII. The Feb issue of Asuka came with a bonus 2013 Calendar featuring UraBoku manga illustrations by Hotaru Odagiri. I’ve also gotten the Feb issue of Comic ZeroSum and that means 07-ghost snippets are in store for 07-G fandom. I often look forward to receiving the magazines at this time of year as they tend to come with all sorts of furoku…ha, who doesn’t like getting such freebies. But anyway, on to the bonuses.

ASUKA Issue 05/12 and Uraboku Story 48 Snippets

Q: Who do we have on May’s cover of Asuka?

It’s May already and isn’t it appropriate to share snippets from the May Issue of ASUKA. It’s later than expected and I do have the current June Issue in hand as well although I won’t post teasers from that copy yet. With that said, there’s no new Uraboku chapter in the June issue. That means the Uraboku fandom will have to wait longer for the next chapter. It is one of the reason why I forgo a quick Uraboku spoiler post earlier on.  I’m not even sure if there’s a new chapter in the coming July issue. Anyway, those of you looking forward to Story 48 shall be pleased because I’m posting the chapter teasers right here.

With Story 47, we are one chapter away from ASUKA’s May edition that will bring us up to the most current chapter of Uraboku. I ‘m sure some of you lucky Uraboku fans managed to get hold of the surprise cookie that I placed in the previous spoiler post for a short and limited time only. So it can’t be helped if people expect more of the same. Unfortunately, that is very much a one-off thing. But fret not, because you’ll get to view more than expected. I’m still serving cookies but of a different kind.

Yes, yes it’s back after such a loooooong hiatus. I haven’t been able to contribute properly because my being really tied-up with work IRL. This would be the first of the back log posting and since March is nearly ending, I thought we should just begin with snippets from ASUKA’s March Issue. That way, I’ll only have the April issue before we catch up to the latest May issue. Confused? Don’t be. The Japanese publications usually releases their issues a month ahead of the current one. That’s how it is.

I had originally planned to wait till the January 2012 issue and do a combo mag post but since I will be very occupied with RL activities in December, I won’t have time to scan stuff from the magazines.  Therefore I acquiesce to time constraint and thus, this post. Fans of Uraboku would certainly love the 2nd collection of illustrative cards that is bundled with this issue of Asuka but unfortunately, there isn’t any new chapter. However, there will be a new chapter in the upcoming Jan issue. So, keep a look out for it as I’ll try and squeeze some snippets when I get my copy of Asuka’s Jan 2012 issue.
