I had originally planned to wait till the January 2012 issue and do a combo mag post but since I will be very occupied with RL activities in December, I won’t have time to scan stuff from the magazines. Therefore I acquiesce to time constraint and thus, this post. Fans of Uraboku would certainly love the 2nd collection of illustrative cards that is bundled with this issue of Asuka but unfortunately, there isn’t any new chapter. However, there will be a new chapter in the upcoming Jan issue. So, keep a look out for it as I’ll try and squeeze some snippets when I get my copy of Asuka’s Jan 2012 issue.

-NEW VOLUME RELEASES-
Genji Monogatari Vol.2 – Loved the cover art.
- It’s getting a live-action film dramatization titled ‘Genji Monogatari -Sennen no Nazo‘ airing on Dec-10 in cinemas across Japan. Real life bishounen actor Ikuta Toma and Higashiyama Noriyuki stars as Hikaru Genji and Murasaki Shikibu respectively. I’m interested in how the movie will play out based on the manga’s adaptation of Murasaki’s novel. I reckon it should be interesting to watch.

Trinity Blood returns with colour spreads for Chapter 55
‘Seirei Produce‘ is also back with a new chapter after being absent for moons and moons.
Hana wa Sakura yori mo Hana no Gotoku – Chapter 3
- Hakubi is close to having *his (her)* secret exposed to the suspicious Souma but fortunately, Ugen steps in to save the day but in the process, he saw something he’s not supposed to…
O*G*A Onigokko Royal – Chapter 5
- This is the touted Sunrise and Kadokawa’s manga collaboration that will be animated somewhere down the line, knowing Sunrise’s tendencies. They are a production studio after all.
Migawari Hakushaku no Bouken – Chapter 24
- A sudden misunderstanding ensues when Mirelle accidentally saw Richard together with the Princess from Hell and made things complicated between them. Mirelle tend to interpret things the wrong way at first sight without understanding the actual scenario especially when it involves poor Richard. The girl is as dense as a rain cloud when she is living the day to day life and not cross-dressing as an heroic Earl. Makes you want to slap her around a bit.
Yoshiwara Hana Oboro – Chapter 4
- Hilarious and serious chapter at the same time. Heirloom link to Hana’s ancestors mayhaps to do with why she’s transported back to the past.
Shinrei Tantei Yakumo – File 4, Chapter 2
- Yakumo’s roped in on a mysterious case involving ‘spontaneous human combustion’ and mutilation. Nothing is quite as it appears especially when human drama is involved and it is down to Yakumo to exact the truth.
Momogumi Plus Senki – Prelude Chapter
- So, after 38 chapters, it is Tenjou’s turn to get some needed character development and he had a broken past contrary to how he always portrays himself to others. It is unfortunate that you have a condescending heroine who fails to understand her so called ‘knights’ which often made her ends up in situation like these…
- The brotherhood of love rules…one for all and all for one. xD
Messiah -Seiiki Ishuu – Chapter 6
- Male bonding runs deep, so deep that its almost ghey to see 
Kyou kara Ma no Tsuku Jiyuugyou! – Chapter 74
- Saralegi appears after witnessing Yuri’s capabilities and now has the hots for him. Wolfram now has serious competition.
- Meine Ehre Heißt Treue ~ My honor is loyalty-

I overlooked something I don’t understand: Why did Yokouchi (the new guy) and Haruka use “-sensei” to address each other? Is it a normal form at university?
Well, Haruka is an assistant teacher at a junior school where a young kid she taught seemed to have a connection with a death at the school and the guy is also an instructor there.

Sad that there is no Uraboku new chapter yet in Asuka’s january 2012 issue… I’m dying to know more about Yuki’s past and girl-Yuki. The mangaka said this info will come on the next chapters!! Oh what a painful hiatus… T.T
Hi I was wondering if u know a site where uraboku is translated into English
Uraboku is licensed! The previous scanlator ‘SIH’ drop the project because of that. ‘Stargazing’ quietly took over but stopped at Chapter 18. Most group won’t scanlate openly if the manga is licensed because of the threat of C&D from publishers. I’m not sure if there’s any group doing it privately.

@Fyreink, u r welcome. Happy to share snippets with manga fandom. Yes, Hatenkou Yuugi is still being published but on and off basis…it seems to be bi-monthly i.e. not every month, every alternate month.

Was there any news/info about DN Angel in this issue? I heard a rumor that the next chapter is coming out in the January issue of Asuka…
Nope, it wasn’t mentioned in the preview list of the upcoming Jan issue. The one that’s coming back after a long hiatus is Momogumi plus Senki with a new full chapter in Asuka’s Jan issue. We had an introductory chapter in the Dec issue. Maybe that’s where the mix-up came from.
